PURPOSE:To try not to damage the ground surface of the workpiece by a method wherein a workpiece holding board, arranged on the revolving trace of a swing arm, is provided to move it between the tip ends of the arm freely in the rotating motion and up-and-down motion and effect a grinding work fully automatically. CONSTITUTION:The swing arm 30 holds hangingly a top plate 20 attracting and holding the workpiece 40. The workpiece holding board is arranged at the side of the grinding machine on the revolving trace of the arm 30. The arm 30 is supported to the base of the main frame of the grinding machine by a bearing through a pivoting shaft 31 and can be swung between a loading and an unloading devices while it can also be pivoted so as to reciprocate the workpiece 40 on a turn table 10. The workpiece 40 is attracted to and held by the plate 20, a rotary shaft 21 is elevated and the arm 30 is pivoted to put the workpiece on the table 10 and contact it closely with a grinding surface 10a on the table, then, the attraction is released to prepare the grinding work. |
