PURPOSE:To restrain damage in a work by a method wherein a material, supplied by a conveyor is attracted by a vacuum attracting device on a swing arm to supply it onto the grinder, in a material supplying and removing device upon grinding the fragile material such as a plate glass or the like fully automatically. CONSTITUTION:The workpiece 40, put on and supplied by the conveyor, is held and inverted by attracting with the vacuum of a loading mechanism and is located at a height same as that of a turn table 10. The swing arm 30 is swung about a rotary shaft 31 and is stopped when the top plate 20 thereof has come to a position immediately above the loading mechanism to attract and hold the workpiece 40 by evacuating the inner part of a recessed part 22 through a suction pipe 25, and locates the workpiece on the turn table 10 by rotating the swing arm 30. The workpieces are worked by an abrasive cloth 10a on the turn table 10 and, thereafter, are moved by an unloading mechanism in a manner similar to that upon supplying. |
