PURPOSE:To have a current application control device, whose function is not restricted by pyrogenic substance, by allowing a single timer to perform control of the time for current application throughout the total period of preheating time and after-glow time in case the temperature is below a certain specified value. CONSTITUTION:When a key switch 2 is tuned on, a timer 11 is put in operation to actuate a relay 13 for allowing the current to flow through a glow plug 4. When thereafter the preheating is completed and the operator puts the key switch 2 in Start position, the glow plug is fed with current continuously even after the engine has started to make after-glow. After timer's operation is completed or if the temp. of cooling water exceeds 40 deg.C, the after-glow is finished. If the engine is at a standstill and a restart is to be made, the glow plug is not fed with current even though the key switch is put on as long as the temp. of cooling water is above 40 deg.C, so that unnecessary preheating and after-glow can be avoided. |
