<p>This machine is of the type comprising a rotor (5) rotating inside a frame (11) with which are associated a chute (34) for supplying products to be ground, and a chute (16) for removing the ground products. The problem to be overcome consists, inter alia, in reducing the energy consumption whilst at the same time treating large pieces. According to the invention, the supply chute (34) has a recessed plane bottom (35), and the frame has, tangentially to the rotor, and on either side of the tangential zone, a first solid plate (23) against which the said bottom (35) is mounted slidably, and a second offset solid plate, defining with the latter a supply aperture (29), whilst the second plate (24) carries a pusher (37) capable of closing this aperture (29).
