Arrangement for biological cleaning of water comprising a container within which an activating space and at least a single separating space, separated from the activating space by an inclined wall, advantageously of conical shape are provided, which inclined wall passes over in its lower part to a return passage connecting both said spaces. A number of transfer channels are provided in the separating space above said inclined wall, the upper parts of these channels connected to the upper part of the activating space, the lower parts thereof opening into the lower part of the separating space. A gassing and/or mixing system is provided in the lower part of the activating space.
