<p>A shaft furnace including an installation for the injection of pre-heated air and a mixing station wherein a controlled amount of cold air is mixed with the pre-heated air in order to obtain a constant and controlled temperature of the pre-heated air, is equipped with means for pneumatically injecting pulverized solid fuels into the current of pre-heated air. Part of the cold air for the mixing station is used for pneumatically propulsing the solid fuels so that the total quantity of cold air mixed to the pre-heated air remains unchanged.</p> |
