PURPOSE:To obtain a device which is capable of measuring a complicated pattern even in case when the number of patterns of an object to be photographed is small, by reading the object to be photographed which moves at a constant speed, by a line scan type solid image pickup element whose element has been arrayed vertically in the moving direction. CONSTITUTION:An object to be photographed which moves at a constant speed is read by a line scan type solid image pickup element whose element has been arrayed vertically in the moving direction. For instance, an object to be photographed 1 whose movement is controlled by an automatic feed mechanism 7 is read by a line scan type solid image pickup element 3 through an optical system 2, and picture information is sent out to a picture processing part 4. Subsequently, analog information outputted from the image pickup element 3 is digitized by the picture processing part 4, complicacy of a pattern and also the number, size,etc. are measured by a logical operating circuit 5, and its result is outputted to a display part 6. Subsequently, by a control part 8, a timing signal is supplied to the automatic feed mechanism 7, the line scan type solid image pickup element 3 and the logical operating circuit 5, by which a processing speed is made coincide. |
