PURPOSE:To permit the paper succeeding a jammed paper to be properly and effectively treated by installing a paper holding carrier part for temporarily storing any paper sheet, besides carrier a part which conveys already printed paper sheets into a collator. CONSTITUTION:A collator 20 which collates a transfer paper 14 on which an image is formed by a laser beam printer 10 is equipped with a paper holding corrier part consisting of a carrier belt 105 for temporarily storing the transfer paper, beside a horizontal carrier part consisting of horizontal quide rollers 36a-36d which guide the transfer paper 14 toward either pin selected out of collating pins 31a-31e and a vertical carrier part consisting of guiding rollers 32a-32e. The transfer paper 14 is once stored in the paper holding carrier part in the state where an inlet switching plate 45 is turned to the position shown by a dotted line, and if the jammed paper is detected here, only the image to be formed in the jammed paper is printed again in the printer 10. Then, the transfer paper 14 staying in the paper holding carrier part is sent to the before mentioned horizontal and the vertical carrier parts, passing through a carrier passage H. |
