PURPOSE:To separate cast products and runners in casting molds by providing a cover body which projects into the runners by releasing the energizing of a spring by the heat of the molten metal flowing into the runners and making the interruption of the flow of the molten metal possible. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal flowing into the runner 2 of a casting mold 1 passes on a separator 5 buried in the bottom surface of a runner and flows into the product molding parts of the mold 1. In this state, the cover body 7 of the separator 5 is heated and a low m.p. material 14 melts, then the engagement between the head part 10 of a metal supporting bar 12 and a top plate 13 is released. As a result, the body 7 is lifted by an energized compression spring 9, and projects into the runner 2, by which the flow of the molten metal is interrupted, and the cast products and the runners are separated. |
