PURPOSE:To remove restrictions on thickness and etc. of originals and make partial reading possible, by providing a mirror by which the image of an original on a fixed platen is reflected to the external. CONSTITUTION:A platen 3 consisting of a contact glass 2 is provided on the upper face of a casing 1 of a rectangular parallelepiped of a reader. An original confirmation window 7 having a prescribed width is formed in the front part of an original position guide 4 of the contact glass 2 throughout the breadth of the guide 4, and a mirror 10 by which an original surface 8 is reflected toward eyes 9 of the external user is formed on the lower face of the contact glass 2 by vapor-deposition of aluminium or the like. By this constitution, the position of the original can be confirmed even after the original is set on the platen, and thus, restrictions on thickness and etc. of the original are removed, and partial reading is possible. |
