PURPOSE:To obtain an easy slidable biaxially stretched polyester film which is useful for a magnetic tape, etc. by such an arrangement wherein a solution containing metallic salts of a specific acrylic acid and film formative polymers, etc. is coated on the surface of a running film before crystal orientation and then the solution is heated and converted into fine protruded points having shape retentivity. CONSTITUTION:A solution or water dispersion containing (A) a metallic salt having the composition of the formula (wherein Me is a metallic ion of 2-6 valence; R is H, methyl; X is a negative ion of one equivalent; y is a number of 1-6; z is a number of 0-2; w is a number of 0-8; p is a number equal to a quotient obtained by dividing a total of y+2z+w with the atomic value of Me) and (B) a film formative high molecular compound, its monomer or a mixture thereof, is coated to one or both sides of running polyester film before its crystal orientation is completed, and next, the film is heated prior to the completion of its crystal orientation and the coated film is converted into multiple fine protruded points having shape retentivity on the surface of film and thus an intended film is obtained. |
