In an injector (2) having inlet and outlet openings (16, 8) and arranged therebetween a nozzle constriction with an associated side inlet opening (10) for an injection medium the nozzle constriction is constituted by a large flow-through hole (24), in which there is axially displaceably mounted a nozzle core (18), such that the nozzle opening itself is defined by the annular area between these parts. The nozzle core (18) is retractable for cleaning of the nozzle and is arranged such that it will automatically assume its nozzle forming position when the pressure and flow conditions correspond to a low pressure operation situation, in which the addition of injection medium is desirable, while under high pressure operation conditions it is forced into an inactive position (B), in which in a desired manner it allows for a free outflow through the entire area of the flow-through hole (24), i.e. without any pressure drop as caused by any existing nozzle constriction. In addition to certain advantages obtained by the design of the nozzle the said possibility of providing for a free outflow is obtained in a very simple manner. |
