The table 1 comprises a table top 2 which can be raised and lowered and which is connected to two or more telescopic legs 3a, 3b, 3a', 3b' and also electrical driving members 6 which can be controlled by means of manual actuations via an electrical controlling component 14. An electric motor for actuating the parts 3a, 3b of the telescopic leg which can be displaced with respect to each other is arranged at each respective telescopic leg. Height-sensing members, which sense the position of the top above a reference level 10 are arranged at each respective telescopic leg of the said telescopic legs. The said height-sensitive members comprise code discs and optical couplers. The electric motors of the telescopic legs, and the height-sensing members, are connected to a digitally operating control unit 11 which includes a comperator. The said control unit is arranged to synchronously control, in dependence on the manual actuations via the controlling component, the electric motors such that the latter influence the upwards and downwards movement of the table top 2 in a co-ordinated manner and such that the difference in height between the extended lengths of the legs is never more than a step of 5 mm. The controlling device includes, or is coupled to, display members which show the height value which has been set for the table top in relation to the reference level. <IMAGE> |
