APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING LIQUID AND VAPOUR PHASES OF FLUID

Liq. & vapor phases are sepd. using appts. (16, 18) which comprises a cylinder(26) contg. blades(36,38) each of which has a curvuilinear triangular surface(38) with a 1st side contiguous(42) with the cylinder wall(26) and defining a helix, and an apex(A) opposite the 1st side on the cylinder axis(x-x). The other sides(AB,AC) of the blade define a leading edge(44) at right angles to the axis and an inclined trailing edge(46) which is curved. The trailing edge is inclined by 30 to 60 deg. to the axis. High sepn. efficiency is achieved without an increase in height.
