A number of contact pins 1 are designed to make up a plug 7 for an instrument cord 11. The respective pins are placed in a slot 8 in the plug body belonging to the pin. The respective pins are made of a spring metal piece which is bent into a V-shaped unit, the free end of whose first shank 1a is arranged as a fastening element for a conductor in lugs 2, 3 configured in the instrument cord, which are arranged at the upper edge on a widened part of the first shank or the upper edge of a continuous cavity located in the widened part. The lugs receive a conductor 11 which extends perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the shanks. The other shank 1b of the unit is provided with a lug, fold, and/or edge 6 serving as a spacing element. The spacing element also includes folds 6', 6" placed opposite each other, extending along a major part of the lengthwise dimensions of the shanks. The shanks of the unit, furthermore, are arranged so that the depressed position in the slot takes up mutually parallel positions dictated by the walls of the slot and said spacing element.
