PURPOSE:To obtain a superior 2-color image reduced in residual potential, by providing 2 interlayers contg. electron donors different in ionization potential, respectively, between the first and the second photoconductive layers different from each other in sensitivity to chromatic colors. CONSTITUTION:A first photoconductive layer 4 is formed on a conductive substrate 5, and the layer 4 is coated with a polycarbonate soln. contg. an electron donor having 2.25eV ionization potential to form an interlayer 3. On this layer 3 an interlayer 2 is formed contg. an electron donor having ionization potential higher by >=0.1eV. A second photoconductive layer 1 is formed on the interlayer 2 to obtain a 2-color electrophotographic receptor. It is subjected to dark negative charging, then, reverse polarity charging to reduce surface potential, after that, exposure to black, red, and white optical images, and finally, development with each different toner, thus permitting a sharp 2-color image to be obtained. A trap is allowed to function effectively on the interface of the interlayers 2, 3 at the time of primary charging by the interlayers 2, 3 to form a sharp 2-color image. |
