PURPOSE:To remove a furnace body without receiving interference from surrounding structures by cutting off part of the bottom of the inverted furnace body in the upper part of a trunnion ring, and winding and rewinding the pulleys of the rigging mounted to the supporting beam placed on the top surface of said ring and the position in the furnace near the furnace port. CONSTITUTION:A furnace body 1 which is partly cut off in the bottom is supported in an inverted position on a trunnion ring 2 and a supporting beam 5 is placed horizontally on the ring 2. Thereafter, a steel wire rope which is wound much on either of a pulley 7 suspended from an eye fitting 18 mounted to the bottom surface at the center of the beam 5 or an another pulley 6 provided with a swivel fitting and is further fixed at the other end at four points in the furnace body adjacent to a furnace port 12 by means of shackles 10 is wound up. Thus, the body 1 is lifted relatively with the ring 2 and plural pawl members 4 latching the body 1 to the ring 2 are cut off; thereafter, the wire rope 8 is unwound and the body 1 is removed from the ring 2. |
