PURPOSE:To obtain a steep pulse characteristic, by fitting a buffer member elastically to a case and arranging a sound absorbing member at the bottom of the case, around a diaphragm provided at the center of a sticked type piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:The diaphragm 13 is provided at the center of the sticked type piezoelectric element 11 consisting of piezoelectric ceramics. The surrounding of the diaphragm 13 is elastically fixed to the inside surface of the case 17 with the buffer member 20 formed into a circular shape to suppress mechanical oscillation. A groove 21 flowing an elastic adhesives is formed at the contact surface of the buffer member 20 with the diaphragm 13 and drooping of the elastic adhesives is prevented for other parts than the contact surface between the diaphragm 13 and the buffer member 20. The bottom of the case 17 is provided with a sound absorbing member 22. The ultrasonic wave transceiver with such construction has a steep pulse characteristic, in which the dispersion in the pulse rising time and the wave transmission sensitivity is improved remarkably.
