PURPOSE:To obtain a magenta color image almost free from mixing with a silver image, fog and stain at high developed color density by short-time heat development at a lower temp. by forming a layer contg. photosensitive silver halide, an org. silver salt oxidizing agent, a binder, a reducing agent and a 2- equiv. magenta coupler on a support. CONSTITUTION:When this photosensitive material is imagewise exposed and developed by heating, a redox reaction is caused between an org. silver salt oxidizing agent (a silver salt of carboxylic acid or a heterocyclic compound) and a reducing agent (a color developing agent) in the presence of exposed photosensitive silver halide as catalyst to produce a silver image at the exposed part. By the reaction the reducing agent is oxidized, and the oxidized product causes a coupling reaction with a 2-equiv. magenta coupler represented by the formula, forming a magenta color image. This magenta dye image can be separated from the silver image by diffusion transfer. |
