摘要 <p>Composite linings for large pipes comprise at least one layer of nonwoven fabric on opposite sides of one or more flexible and relatively strong reinforcement layers, this gp. of porous layers being lined on their internal face with a layer of flexible impermeable film with a smooth surface at least on the face in contact with the surrounding non-woven fabric layer. The internal surface of the pipe and/or the external fabric surface of the lining is coated with a hardenable liq. adhesive resin and pressure is applied via the film-covered base of the lining to consolidate the lining against the pipe surface and complete impregnation of the porous fabric layers, prior to hardening the resin in situ. The pressurising fluid may be heated, to effect curing of the adjacent resin. The nonwoven fabrics may be of natural materials, such as cotton, or synthetic fibres, such as polyester. The nonwoven layers may be of similar or different materials and/or thickness. The reinforcement may be of woven fabric or netting, esp. of glass fibres, pref. positioned so that the warp and weft fibres are aligned with the axis and radii of the pipe respectively. The flexible film applied against the internal surface may be of natural or butyl rubber, polyethylene or flexible PVC; pref. the tubular film projects from at least one end of the tubing. Used esp. for lining corroded or damaged pipes to provide a strong impermeable lining with a smooth bore, to obtain high strength while involving minimum quantities of resin and minimum reduction of the original pipe bore.</p>
