<p>The systems for marking items as they move along a conveyor and leave and rejoin the main track, includes, for each item, a moulded body with a number of parallel slots. The body has a rectangular cross section with the slots extending transversely across it. Each slot is extended by a hole receiving a ball bearing and spring. A longitudinal hole extends at right angles to the slots and receives a spindle. An index finger is received in each slot and may project to varying extents. The shaft is slightly longer than the slotted assembly, so that its two ends may be held in a stirrup. The positions in which the index fingers are set indicate the marked information which is to be recorded on the items.</p> |
