PURPOSE:To reduce the variation due to circuit elements and the influence of aging change in a 2-phase step motor by employing means for digitally controlling to freely vary the frequency and the polarity under a program control. CONSTITUTION:When receiving a phase control signal fed from a microprocessor 1, a step motor drive unit 6 outputs drive low frequency sinusoidal wave voltages fD1, fD2 which have frequencies and polarities corresponding to the desired rotating speed and 90 deg. out of phase from each other to the first and second exciting coils 7 and 8 of a 2-phase step motor 4 under the program control of the microprocessor 1, thereby operating the motor 4. A position detector 5 outputs a voltage proportional to the angular position of a load 10, compares it with a position instruction signal under the program control of the microprocessor 1 and outputs as a position control signal it to the unit 6. |
