<p>A multi-link sawing chain for a motorised chain saw. The chain is of the type having driving links and cutting links. Each cutting link has a cutting edge formed between inclined link surfaces. At least one of the surfaces is hard-faced with a layer of yellow titanium nitride. Alternative hard-facing layers may be formed of borides, carbides and/or nitrides of metal transition elements. The hard-faced surfaces pref. have a Vickers Hardness number above 2000. Chain link surfaces which are not hard-faced are pref. chromium or nickel plated.</p> |
