PURPOSE:To obtain plastic lenses used for eyeglasses improved in light resistance, by adding a UV absorber for absorbing UV rays and shorter wavelength visible rays to a polymer having aromatic rings. CONSTITUTION:A UV absorber for absorbing UV rays and shorter wavelength visible rays is added to a highly refractive polymer having aromatic rings. As the usable polymer having aromatic rings, aromatic ring-having polymethacrylate, polydiallyl phthalate, or polycarbonate are embodied. As the UV absorber, 2,2'-dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone, 2-(hydroxy-5-t-octylphenyl)benzotriazole, etc. are exemplified, suitable amts. of them used are 0.05-2wt% for the former, and 0.1-3wt% for the latter, respectively. |
