In a stand, consisting of vertical and horizontal frame bars, for a shelving system, the vertical frame bar (generally the rear bar) is extended upwards and serves for fastening a rear wall or shelving components other than the customary shelves resting on all vertical bars. Part of the extended frame bar can belong to a further frame which is constructed, for example, to correspond to the wall cabinets of kitchen shelving.
