The invention is concerned with the fact that the position of the cleaning or threshing/cleaning device in combine harvesters can be varied in relation to the undercarriage. During travel over uneven ground, a perpendicularity sensor mounted on the undercarriage experiences a deflection in relation to the undercarriage. The deflection is transmitted to the lifting cylinders which are so mounted between the undercarriage and cleaning or threshing/cleaning device that the cleaning or threshing/cleaning device can constantly be maintained in the best possible working position. <IMAGE>
