PURPOSE:To prevent color degradation from occurring at a recorded image in a color-producing part, by a method wherein a coated layer of a water-soluble resin containing a specified wetting agent is provided on a heat-sensitive color- producing layer. CONSTITUTION:The heat-sensitive color-producing layer containing a colorless or leuco dye and a color developer for developing the color of the dye when being heated as main constituents is provided on a base such as a paper or a synthetic resin film, and a protective layer having a thickness of 1-10mum, preferably 2-5mum is provided on the color-producing layer. The protective layer consists of a coated layer of a water-soluble resin containing 0.05-5wt% (solid basis) of a wetting agent having an HLB value of 4-20. Examples of the water-soluble resin used in the coated layer include polyvinyl alcohol and hydroxyethyl cellulose, while examples of the wetting agent having the HLB value of 4-20 include polyethylene glycol nonylphenyl ether and polyethylene glycol alkylallyl ether. |
