PURPOSE:To change the slice level in response to the deformed waveform of a digital signal and the level fluctuation, by changing the slice level at each unit time in response to the amount of code error so as to minimize the code error per unit time. CONSTITUTION:An error flag generated at an error detection circuit 6 is applied to a slice level control circuit 7, for example, the amount of error flag at each one frame period of a video signal is detected and a digital signal the value of which is changed depending on the error flag is generated. This signal is converted into an analog signal at a D/A conversion circuit 8. This signal is applied to a comparison circuit as a reference voltage and the silice level of the digital video signal is set. The slice level of the digital video signal at the comparison circuit 3 is changed in accordance with the error flag at each one frame period and the slice level is controlled so as to minimize, e.g. zero the error flag from the circuit 6. |
