The artificial heart valve according to the invention has a synthetic ring which serves as valve seating and which is surrounded by an outer ring which is composed of synthetic fabric and which serves as anchoring for the connecting threads for the heart valve on the recipient tissue. The heart valve is provided with a closure element which is formed by two valve parts which are designed to be arch-shaped and each of which have two thin attachments in the central region of the rim intended for placing on the ring forming the valve seating. The ring forming the valve seating is provided with seatings which are formed in its outer wall at diametrically opposite points and which are suitable for receiving the attachments on the valve parts with the possibility of free movement. The heart valve according to the invention is particularly suitable as aortic valve and as mitral valve.
