PURPOSE:To conduct the test of the normality even for a channel whose continuity pattern changes on its way or at loop back time by providing an expectation pattern register setting the expected reception pattern at the normal continuity additionally and collating the expected pattern and the reception pattern. CONSTITUTION:The continuity test pattern is set to a transmission pattern register 2 and they are inserted to a channel 9 and the expected pattern to be received is set to the expected pattern register 3 via the set test path with respect to said sent pattern. The test pattern passing through said path and loop-backed through a terminal equipment 10 is extracted and set from the channel 9 to the reception pattern register 6, and the expected pattern and the reception pattern are compared and collated by a pattern collation circuit 5. As the test information, the result of comparison/collation, the transmission pattern, the expected pattern and the received patter are selected by a continuity test informaton selector 7 and the result is sent to the processor 1.
