A device for the manual propulsion of small floating bodies intended for passenger transport and having propulsion means detachably arranged on the floating body is to be designed in such a way that, in a simple manipulating arrangement, the propulsion means only take up a small space and thus do not endanger swimmers. For this purpose, the propulsion means are arranged on the free ends of double-armed levers which are mounted in supports in such a way as to be pivotable inside one plane, which supports are held laterally on the floating body by detachable straps embracing the floating body. The propulsion means are here designed in such a way that they offer different flow resistances in the water in opposed pivoting directions. Here, the propulsion means can be formed by two symmetric blades which are adjacent to one another, are pivotable to a limited extent relative to one another and are held by hinges or film hinges. <IMAGE>
