PURPOSE:To improve durability by using modified polymers obtd. by graft polymerizing hydroxyl group-contg. polymerizable unsatd. compds. to polymer binders by irradiation of radiations as binders. CONSTITUTION:Radiations are irradiated to polymers such as vinyl chloride- vinyl acetate copolymers which produce free radicals when irradiated with radiations such as gammer rays, electron rays or the like, and compds. contg. hydroxyl groups such as 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, 2-hydroxypropyl acrylate, 2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate or the like are graft- polymerized, whereby modified polymers are obtained. Such polymers are used as binders for forming magnetic layers using magnetic powder. |
