In a pressure chamber which is penetrated at the end by a rotating shaft and can be used as a housing for a hydraulic motor or a pump, in which housing pressures of more than 0.6 MPa occur, operationally reliable long-life sealing is achieved by means of a back-up ring resting against the cover and a slide ring encompassing the entire contact area of the back-up ring.
