An untangling and fitting aid device for anti-slip chains, in particular endless snow chains, is described which is composed of a flexible fabric strip with a length which corresponds at least to the circumference of the tyre cross-section of the wheel to be provided with the anti-slip chain and whose ends are attached to a marking and holding strip which is stiff in comparison with the fabric strip, the width of which marking strip corresponds essentially to the width of the fabric strip and the length of which marking strip corresponds approximately to twice the width of the fabric strip, preferably at least the width of a hand, as a result of which the anti-slip chain can be on the one hand more easily handled and on the other hand the untangling of the chain and its correct arrangement with respect to the wheel is made possible even when visibility is poor.
