PURPOSE:To measure raceway groove pitch accurately and easily by providing an upper and a lower measurement part which are movable in axial directions of a double row raceway bearing and hold balls with holders through ball guide surfaces and raceway groove surfaces. CONSTITUTION:For measuring the raceway groove pitch P1 of the doble row outer ring 21, balls 22 and 23 with holders are fitted in raceway grooves 24 and 25. The balls 23 are supported on the ball guide surface 37 of the lower measurement part 32. A bracket 35 is lowered by sliding on the slide surface 34 of the device to insert the lower end part of the upper measurement part 31 fixed to the bracket 35 into among the balls 22 with holders, and the ball guide surface 36 of the upper measurement part abuts on the surface of the ball 27 of the ball 22, so that balls 27 and 28 of the balls 22 and 23 contact each other at a position where a nominal angle of contact is theta while held between ball guide surfaces 36 and 37. At the same time, the contactor 45 of a measure 43 abuts on the upper surface of the lower measurement part 32 and the pitch P1 is indicated on an indicator 47 in the form of the relative displacement between the measurement parts 31 and 32. Consequently, the raceway groove pitch is measured accurately and easily. |
