In the main patent (Application P3043178.8) the device for individually removing the bags from a magazine by means of suction jibs is equipped with a depressor provided with nozzles and placed on the remaining bags in order to separate a second bag adhering to the underside from the upper bag by means of compressed air. The separation of two bags adhering to one another by means of compressed air is only possible if the adhesion forces do not exceed a certain level. In order to increase the operating reliability, at least one additional suction cup is, according to the present invention, provided in the area of the, as seen in the direction of transport, trailing edge of the bag to be withdrawn from the magazine, which cup first raises the bag in the area of the trailing edge and conveys it in the transporting direction. The depressor can thereby be applied to the remaining bags stacked in the magazine so that a second bag adhering to the upper bag is separated during the transport by the suction jibs. By turning over the trailing edge of the bag in the manner of linear peeling it is ensured that in this area the upper bag is reliably separated from the succeeding bag. <IMAGE>
