PURPOSE:To prevent yellowing of the white background of a developed image of a photosensitive material contg. a color developing agent, by a high-boiling org. solvent having a water-solubility not below a specified value to a layer contg. especially a 5-pyrazolone type magenta coupler or its adjacent layer. CONSTITUTION:A high-boiling org. solvent, such as 2-ethylhexanol, butyl stearate, or tri-n-butyl phosphate having >=0.1g/100g water solubility at 20 deg.C, and about 10g upper limit of solubility is added to a layer contg. especially a 5- pyrazolone type magenta coupler or its adjacent layer. A silver halide color photosensitive material is prepared by combining said layer with a layer contg. a p-phenylene-diamine color developing agent or its precursor. This material does not cause yellow stains due to aging after development, and it is suitable for a simple and fast development process. |
