An air-cooled internal combustion engine (1) with supercharging, especially for vehicles with a transmission and a hydrodynamic brake (retarder), an air-cooled oil cooler (8) for aftercooling of the engine oil or the retarder and transmission oil has a charge air cooler (2), to which cooling air is admitted and through which oil ducts (9) pass, which is arranged upstream of the cooling air fan (3) and through which engine oil or transmission and retarder oil can flow for preheating of the charge air, and a cooling air receiving chamber, in the boundary of which movable flaps (7) are provided which, in order to free an air outlet aperture, are movable about their longitudinal axis in order to obtain an increased cooling air flow at minimal cooling air fan power. <IMAGE>
