A soln. of>=1 microcryst. was (contg. another was or a silicone oil in some cases) is applied to surfaces, such as walls, to form coating which does not adhere strongly to paint, dust, etc. The wax coatings are easily cleaned by water(e.q., rain) and have a long useful life. Thus, a coating compn. contained microcryst. was (m.p. 58-60≦̸C 18 wt %, silicone oil 3 wt % and white spirit 79 wt%.
