PURPOSE:To provide a titled casting mold by which ingots having no internal defects are obtained by providing liners through heat insulting materials on the inside surfaces of the hole of a copper mold aving cooling water paths. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous casting device for thin walled bodies of ferrous alloys wherein an ingot 1 is drawn continuously with pinch rolls 5 from the molten metal 1a in a tundish through a casting mold 2, liners 2c are provided on the inside surfaces of the hole of the copper mold 2b having cooling water flow paths 2a, and heat insulating materials 2d are interposed between the liners 2c and the inside surfaces of the hole of the mold 2b, whereby the temp. gradient in the thickness direction is decreased over the entire section of the ingot 1 and the molten metal is cooled gradually, whereby the trough of a solidified shell 1b is shallowed and the generation of the internal defects of the ingot 1 is suppressed. As the above-mentioned liners 2c, boron nitride, etc. are used. The materials 2d are crystalline alumina materials or the like, and the materials having about 0.05-0.2kcal/mh deg.C heat conductivity are suitable. |
