An AC current detection circuit is intended to detect whether an AC induction current for the rotor of the rotating anode X-ray tube flows or not. A current transformer (CT) is employed in the rotor supply circuit to generate a lower voltage at its output circuit by utilizing its magnetic-electric conversion effect.

A transistor (TR1) may switch on-off by receiving the generated voltage to produce a series of output pulse signals.

A retriggerable monostable multivibrator (lC) can detect a missing pulse from the output pulse signals, which missing pulse indicates a failure of the rotor supply operation.
