PURPOSE:To omit a lubricant, and to facilitate maintenance by overhaul by holding the noncontacting state of the inserting end section of a piston with a cylinder within the range of tilt of the piston. CONSTITUTION:The cylinder 9, a circumferential wall thereof is provided with an orifice, is inserted into a fluid, and the piston 8 for buffer is held and encased into the cylinder 9 at the position of extension at all times by an elastic body 15. In such a hydraulic shock absorber 3, the outer diameter of the inserting end section of said piston 8 into the cylinder 9 is set in a smaller diameter than the inner diameter of the cylinder 9 so as not to contact and slide with the inner surface of the cylinder within the range of the tilt of the piston 8. |
