PURPOSE:To improve discharge characteristics in a battery and dispersion thereof, by injecting an alkaline electrolyte inside a sealing base plate twice apart before and after charging a mixture of amalgamated zinc dust and a gelling agent. CONSTITUTION:Part of an alkaline electrolyte is injected inside a sealing base plate 7 and, after charging a mixture of amalgamated zinc dust and a gelling agent, the rest electrolyte is further injected into the said mixture, making up a gell-like zinc cathode 6. In the conventional method that the alkaline electrolyte is added after a mixture of the amalgamated zinc dust and the gelling agent is charged, the osmosis of the electrolyte into mixture is not good whereby a state of uniform dispersion inside the mixture of the electrolyte can be no longer expected and likewise, there where some problems so far that a utilization factor of zinc active matter comes down and, what is worse, dispersion in the battery characteristic grows large anyway. Like this method, the alkaline electrolyte is separately injected twice so that these problems mentioned above were all improved. |
