The knitting machine includes a dial part(3) on which a latch member(4) is mounted and a cylinder part(1) on which a loop cutting needle(2) with a cutting knife(2b) is mounted perpendicularly to the latch needle. Both needles(2,4) are operated alternately by a cam(15). A sinker(6) disposed on the dial part is operated perpendicularly to the needle corresponding to the stitching pitch of the latch needle. The sinker operates uprightly at the time of the supply of threads so that the thread is supplied to the hook(4') of the latch needle. A rotatable depressing plate(16) mounted between the sinker & the cutting needle keeps the pile from raising up.
