NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formulaI(R1, R2 are lower alkyl). EXAMPLE:3-(N-Methyl-p-toluidino)-7-(o-chloroanilino)fluoran. USE:Heat-sensitive color-developing components in heat-sensitive recording material, a color developing pigment in recording paper such as pressure-sensitive paper or electro thermo-recording paper. It develops black color by contacting with a developer and shows good thermal sensitivity and high color concentration with extremely reduced prime color development. PREPARATION:An N-alkylating agent is made to act on 4-alkyl-3'-hydroxydiphenylamine of formula II to give an N-alkylated product of formula III. Then, 1mol. of the product is heated together with 1-2mol of phthalic anhydride in a solvent to give a benzophenone derivative of formula V. The product is made to react with 4-methoxy-2'-chlorodiphenylamine in the presence of a condensation reaction agent and nutralized with an aqueous sodium hydroxide, extracted with an organic solvent to give the compound of formulaI. |
