<p>This switching voltage regulator has three external terminals and one switch (10) controlled by a circuit (50). A diode (20) is situated between the first (1) and second (2) terminals. A capacitor (30) is situated between the second (2) and third (3) terminals. An inductor (40) is situated between the third terminal (3) and the point common to the switch (10) and the diode (20). In this regulator, the switch's (10) controller (50) is fed between the first (1) and second (2) terminals. Therefore, if an input voltage with a given polarity is applied between the third (3) and the first (1) terminals, an output voltage with opposite polarity is obtained between the third (3) and the second (2) terminals. This regulator is more versatile. In particular, a positive output voltage can be obtained between the second and third terminals when applying a positive input voltage between the second and first.</p> |
