摘要 PURPOSE:To determine the coordinate system of a work readily, by computing the coordinate system of the work on the table of the machine tool from a plurality of coordinate points obtained by contacting a contact probe to desired contact points based on a specified computing program. CONSTITUTION:The contact probe 14 is contacted with the work 12 and the first contact point P1(x1, y1) is measured. Then, the second contact point P2(x2, y2) is likewise measured. Finally, the third contact point P3(x3, y3) is measured. Thereafter, a reference point P0(x0, y0) and an angle theta are obtained from the plurality of the coordinate points P1-P3 by the desired computing program. Thus the coordinate system 18 of the work 12 on the table 10 of the machine tool is determined. By using this coordinate system, which is offset from a mechanical coordinate system whose reference point is an original point Q of the machine, the numerically controlled machining is performed.
