摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To abvoid a valve shaft arranged in a high load intake air passage from being extended through another intake air passage in an intake air manifold coupled to a cylinder head, by vertically arranging the configuration of two intake air passages. CONSTITUTION:Since a shut-off valve 16 closes a high load intake air passage 5b when an engine runs at a low load, all amount of intake air metered by a restrictor valve 15 is distributed to each cylinder within an intake air expansion chamber 14, and is sucked into a combustion chamber 2 at a relatively high velocity through an all range intake air passage 6b and an air suction port 5. At this time, narrowing in the area of the intake air passage and the generation of voltex flow due to a valve shaft 17 are not occurred, since the shaft 17 does not extend through the all range intake air passage 6b. The shut-off valve 16 opens when the load of the engine further increases, and therefore, all amount of intake air is led to the combustion chamber 2 through intake ports 5, 6 and an intake manifold 12.</p>
