PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of an apparatus by providing a supporting mechanism at the home position of a collator unit of a sorter provided with said collating unit for distributing sheets of paper in to a plural number of housing bin, keeping the conduction to a driving circuit until said collating unit is held. CONSTITUTION:Turning a power supply switch OFF causes a power conducting timer within a sorter to be started. Then, whether a collating unit 11 is returned to its home position or not is judged by a limit switch, and if not returned, a motor 15 is turned ON, allowing a pulley 16 to be rotated such that the collating unit 11 shifts upward. Hereby, if the collating unit 11 returns to its home position, a solenoid 25 is turned OFF, permitting the collating unit 11 to be held. Then, if the power supply conducting timer is stopped, the power supply to the device is turned OFF, for the first time. In this way, even if any vibration is applied to the sorter at the time of the power supply-OFF, the collating unit is not moved, allowing the safety of the device to be secured. |
