PURPOSE:To stabilize the idle operation of an alcohol/reformed gas engine by determining the opening degree and the load of an air valve on the basis of signals of a pressure sensor and an idle opening sensor in a control device for the engine. CONSTITUTION:The output of a pressure sensor 10 is supplied to a marginal gas/fuel ratio computation unit 14 and an air valve computation unit 19. When an engine is operated by reformed gas for idling, the output of an accelerator opening compensation unit 32 is reduced to zero, and the output signal from an accelerator opening sensor 8 is outputted from an addition unit 33 as it is. In this construction, a load computation unit 12 and the computation unit 19 respectively and jointly use signals of the number of revolutions and the gas pressure to compute the load of the engine and the opening degree of an air valve 22, and control the air valve 22, a gas valve 23, and an alcohol injection valve 6 to increase the excess air ratio. |
